Digital Literacy, Digital Marketing and Assessing NVQ Vocational Qualifications

Digital Literacy
The Microsoft Digital Literacy is originally from Microsoft Commercial Software Development and published by Microsoft for the average learner.
The training course covers:
- IT Basics
- Internet & Productivity Programs.

Goal of Digital Literacy is to:
- teach and assess basic computer concepts and skills so that people can use computer technology in everyday life
- develop new social and economic opportunities for learners, their families and their communities
- offer a comprehensive course on computer basics, the internet, productivity programmes and computer security

Learning Outcomes
- Understand the main parts and functions of a computer
Become more familiar with using the mouse and keyboard
- Gain a knowledge of the hardware, operating system, programs, data, networks and the World Wide Web
- Be able to easily manage your electronic files and folders
- Be more aware of the different types of internet connection available, how to search for information, email and publish on the web.
- Gain a good knowledge of advanced keyboard techniques, word processors, spreadsheets, presentations and databases
- Understand the importance of computer security and privacy
- Be able to protect yourself from computer threats and secure your email and exchanges on the web
- Learn about web video technologies, digital photography, speech recognition and many more interesting digital technology.

Assessing NVQ Qualifications: e.g. Customer Service & Vocational Achievement
- In order for us to provide additional professional services in major industries of the economy, we undertook an intense A1 Assessor training course in London, provided by the Bright Assessing (www.brightassessing.com), the UK's leading NVQ Asessor and Teacher Training Provider accredited by NCFE (www.ncfe.org.uk) which is the awarding body of the relevant qualifications.
- The training, knowledge and qualification have enabled us to carry out assessments of learners or candidates aiming at qualifications in customer service and vocational achievement in various industries, such as vocational and functional skills training, hospitality, IT, financial management etc.

Qualification title:
NCFE Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement.
Unit titles:
1. Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment- Level 3, 3 Credits
2. Assess Occupational Competence in the Work Environment- Level 3, 6 Credits
3. Assess Vocational Skills, Knowledge and Understanding - Level 3, 6 Credits
In the practical session of the course, between December 2012- Jan 2013, we did team assessment of two receptionists at the Jurys Inn Hotel in Islington, studying for NVQ Level 2 qualification in customer service.
Awarded the Bright Assessing Gold Membership and became Bright Alumni Member UK 2012/13. Since then we having been assessing qualifications.

We assess vocational qualifications in:
- Customer Service and Hospitality,
- Facilities Management,
- Business Administration,
- Team Leading, Management and
- ICT & Digital Marketing.
